Community Farm Share Event to Explore Sustainable Food Systems in West Hartford
West Hartford, CT – Join root2RISE, along with local farmers, educators, and artists, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the West Hartford Town Hall Parking Lot for the Community Farm Share Event (CFSE). Through hands-on investigations into nature journaling and worm composting, a cooking demo, panel discussion and more, participants will explore important questions: What is a sustainable and just food system? What could it look like in our community?
root2RISE is a local, non-profit organization that is committed to cultivating relationships between people, land and food. Through intentional education, advocacy and action, root2RISE works to provide space for conversations rooted in place, culture and community. The organization believes equitable access to land and healthy food leads the transformation toward resilient and sustainable communities.
The CFSE is inspired by the concept of Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) and this Fall everyone is invited to celebrate the season of harvest and all that comes from the land around us. root2RISE is once again offering advance ordering of Farm Shares featuring a selection of fresh, local veggies, apples, herbal tea samples, native plant seedlings and more - providing a delicious way to support local agriculture.
