Auction Specialist - Team Lead

Professional estate organizing company specializing in senior citizen downsizing throughout the State of Connecticut is looking to hire an Auction Specialist for either Full or Part Time employment. The appropriate candidate must be savvy in the resale industry relating to furniture and household goods.  Experience in utilizing social media platforms to market our auctions and enhance the overall success of the sales event is desired.  Must be able to work independently or lead a small team.  The right candidate will be caring and sensitive to the needs of senior citizens facing a downsizing situation and will be respectful of their circumstances and belongings. Training will be provided for the person(s) with the right personality and fit.  Pay will be commensurate with experience. 

Job duties include:

  • Staging of household items and furniture in aesthetically pleasing vignettes to create auction lots
  • Photographing lots, in whole and in part, to be used on the online auction platform
  • Cataloguing of items in each lot, following prescribed format, to be used on the online auction platform
  • Formatting and numbering of photographs following set guidelines
  • Marketing of auctions on social media platforms
  • Monitor auction as final bids come in to identify current market trends
  • Oversee auction buyers when they come to pick up their purchases
