Museum Educator
Position Summary: The Museum Educator (ME) is responsible for providing educational experiences for students, families, and other museum visitors by interpreting the daily lives of 18th century Americans, the life of Noah Webster, and the history of West Hartford. The ME will support the mission of the Noah Webster House by providing high quality educational experiences to all visitors and accurately teaching the stories and contributions of the diverse people who have made up the West Hartford community.

Position Details
? Part-time, non-exempt position. The ME reports to the Museum Programs Manager.
? $15.69 per hour.
? Flexible hours. Part time as needed. School programs tend to run weekday mornings.
? This position is not benefit eligible, as currently defined by the NWH personnel policy.

Primary Responsibilities:
? Mastery of museum education program material.
? Provide direct and hands-on experience through interaction with students of varying ages, grades, and abilities.
? Completes set-up and clean-up for programs as scheduled.
? Attends training sessions and other scheduled meetings. Other Opportunities: While not required, other opportunities may include:
? Teaching summer camp and workshops.
? Providing tours for walk-in visitors or groups.
? Assisting with public programs.
? Occasional costumed interpretation.
? Weekend and evening hours.

Required Skills:
? Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
? Teaching experience highly desirable.
? Interest/experience in early American history and/or museums.
? Outgoing and personable demeanor, with the ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with clientele.
? Commitment and belief in the mission of the Noah Webster House.
