The Reading League Connecticut, The University of Saint Joseph a collaborate to present the documentary film: The Truth About Reading 

The Reading League Connecticut (TRLCT), the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) are joining together to host a private screening of the documentary film, The Truth About Reading. This new, eye-opening documentary film from Emmy Award® winning director Nick Nanton, brings to light the illiteracy crisis in America, highlighting people who learned to read as adults and sharing proposed solutions for working towards a future where every child learns to read proficiently. The film is free of charge and will be screened, by invitation only with light refreshments and a Q&A following the showing. 

Saturday, Feb. 11 at 12: 30 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., welcome begins at 1 p.m. followed by the premiere of the film and an open conversation afterward.

The John Corcoran Foundation produced The Truth About Reading, not only as an opportunity to share John's personal story, but ultimately to reveal how illiteracy is not just an issue that impacts a select few: it is a national crisis, hiding in plain sight.
