Spirits in the House, the museum’s fantastical fall fundraiser will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 7 to 10 p.m. Whimsy and imagination will transform the museum into a magical jazz club, full of spirited activities, including magic and fortune-telling, entertainment, food, and special cocktails.
Headlining the event is recording artist Angela Luna, who along with jazz great David Palla and the Moondrops, will perform an evening of American songbook and jazz from the great Cotton Club era. “The museum is so fortunate to host an artist of Angela Luna’s caliber,” said Executive Director Jennifer DiCola Matos. Angela Luna has travelled the world singing and experiencing music with all walks of life. She is currently a member of the hip-hop(e) act Klokwize, whose music can currently be heard on ESPN’s “First Take.” Angela also works with the Judy Dworin Performance Project and women of the York Correctional Institute.
Unique refreshments will be generously provided from favorite food establishments in the community, including a Hotel California tequila tasting and cash bar by Maximum Beverage.
