MakerspaceCT, the vibrant hub for creativity and innovation in downtown Hartford, invites the community to join its much-anticipated New Year Open House event on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. While exploring cutting-edge technology, collaborative spaces and new opportunities, attendees will have a chance to watch maker demos and meet like-minded individuals passionate about making.
MakerspaceCT boasts state-of-the-art workshops designed to cater to an extensive range of materials and fabrication processes. "Our mission is to positively impact lives by enabling access, innovation, and education.," said MakerspaceCT’s executive director, Devra Sisitsky. "We are a vibrant community resource conveniently located in the heart of downtown Hartford, offering an expansive, well-equipped workspace where people and projects thrive."
The New Year Open House on January 16th, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at 36 Talcott Street, promises an exciting glimpse into the opportunities available at MakerspaceCT. Attendees will have the chance to connect with fellow creators, take a shop tour, and gain insights into the diverse offerings, including laser cutting, sewing, woodworking, CNC routing, welding, metal fabrication, 3D printing, CAD, machining, CNC milling, and much more.
One of the highlights of the event is the exclusive offer: attendees who sign up for a workshop during the Open House will receive a complimentary two-month membership to MakerspaceCT.* This unique opportunity allows individuals to explore the facility's resources and community at no additional cost, providing an immersive experience in the world of innovation and creation.

Our vision uses 'making' as a vehicle to lift up individuals and communities at the 28,000 square foot innovation lab in Downtown Hartford, Connecticut. Classes are offered in metal, wood and plastic fabrication, facilitating education in prototype and manufacturing techniques. In order to avail of the free membership offer, participants must sign up on-site for one (1) MakerspaceCT workshop during the Open House event. Workshop fees typically range from $59 to $199. Prices may vary on the day of the Open House. Workshops have limited availability. The offer is exclusively available to adults aged 18 and above. The free membership is valid for two calendar months under an all-access membership. Terms and conditions apply; the membership holds no cash value and is non-transferable.
