"Empowering Futures: Celebrating our 5th Year Anniversary," is a special breakfast and panel discussion event on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
We are bringing together parents, educators, school administrators, manufacturers, nonprofits and legislators to participate in an engaging dialogue surrounding the pivotal role of STEM education in shaping the future of our youth.
To kick off the event, Chris DiPentima, President and CEO of CBIA will provide opening remarks and Cole Grosner, Director of Education at MakerspaceCT will discuss the STEM education philosophy behind the programs at MakerspaceCT.
The panel discussion, moderated by Joel Hicks-Rivera, Senior Community Impact Officer for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, will include the following participants:
- Nailah Abdul-Rahman, Director of Student 5.0 at ReadyCT
- Will Cheney, STEM Instructional Specialist at Hartford Public Schools
- Matt Fleury, President & CEO of the Connecticut Science Center
- Dammein Hurdle, Parent and Aerospace Systems Engineer at Pratt and Whitney
- Enrique Juncadella, Director of Workforce Solutions Collaborative of Metro Hartford
We’ll address pressing questions such as:
- How do we collaborate to create cohesive STEM opportunities?
- What can educators do to ignite a passion for STEM in our students?
- Where do avenues exist to further pursue STEM education?
- Why are coordinated, educational STEM opportunities important?
