Join us for the Chamber Awards Reveal Party and an evening of food, drink, and networking at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History.

About Our Host: The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1825 as the state’s premier historical society, and cultural institution. Located in the historic West End of Hartford, the Museum houses exhibitions, a library, a research center, and a vast collection that includes more than 4 million manuscripts, graphics, objects, and artifacts.
Attendees at this event are invited to explore the museum during and after the event until 8pm, when the museum closes. Here is information about the current exhibits:
NEW EXHIBIT: Rebellious (first floor) - opened April 2026
Rebellious reflects on moments throughout Connecticut history when its people came together, pushed back, and sparked change to pursue their own visions of life, liberty, and happiness in America. Informed by the Museum’s vast collections, Rebellious unites 250 years of compelling Connecticut stories at local, state, and national levels. Discover the stories of residents across Connecticut from the American Revolution to present day, including rare items like all four famed American Revolution engravings by Connecticut engraver and silversmith Amos Doolittle, known as the Revere of Connecticut; a Revolutionary War Loyalist’s uniform coat; a powder horn used by a Connecticut soldier when the British attacked New London and Groton; an outfit worn during a march on Washington in support of the Equal Rights Amendment; items from a laundry business run by Chinese immigrants in Bridgeport; and more.
NEW EXHIBIT: Drawn Here: Stories from Hartford's North End (second floor) - opened March 2026
Explore the migration history and culture of Hartford’s North End through a series of original graphic novels developed by local students and professional artists. Creative writing and history come together to examine themes of movement, identity, and belonging. The North End has been home to migrants for hundreds of years. The experiences of the Irish, Italians, Eastern Europeans, Black Southerners, West Indians, Puerto Ricans, and others who have made the neighborhood their home, whether briefly or for generations, add nuance and depth to our understanding of what it means to be American.
PERMANENT EXHIBIT: Making Connecticut (second floor)
Don’t miss this exhibit 400+ years in the making! Colorful, interactive, and filled with more than 500 historic objects, images, and documents, Making Connecticut is the story of all the people of Connecticut, from the 1500s through today. Themes of daily life, clothing, transportation, sports and leisure, work, and social change run throughout the exhibit. Hands-on activities include working a World War II assembly line, hand stenciling designs for a 19th-century chair, sewing a Native American moccasin, replacing bobbins in a textile mill, and cooking a meal and setting the table in both a colonial and a 1980s kitchen. Come be surprised, inspired, and amused as you explore our state’s past and your own place in “Making Connecticut.”
