About Us

Enfield Fencing Club (EFC), located in Enfield, Connecticut, is a welcoming community dedicated to teaching the Olympic sports of foil and sabre. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced competitor, EFC offers expert coaching in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Founded by passionate fencing professionals, the club is led by a team of accomplished coaches. Head Coach Gherardo Mauri brings over 35 years of experience and ranks in the top 10 nationally in veteran men’s sabre. Madison Fournier, a skilled sabr fencer, is known for her technical expertise and engaging teaching style, making her a favorite among younger students. Ben Ide, a veteran fencer in all 3 weapons, brings years of experience and a strong focus on competitive training and strategic development. Dr. Ian Tucker, a Cornell fencing alumnus and practicing physician, emphasizes the health benefits of the sport.

EFC provides group classes, private lessons, and youth programs designed to build skill, confidence, and sportsmanship.
