DESCRIPTION:From the magical songs of "West Side Story" to the celebratory finale of "Stars and Stripes\," music will fill the air of the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium at 7p.m.\, Saturday\, May 19\, as the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra presents a rousing POPS Concert for 2018\, designed for an annual dose of song\, music and family fun.\n\nThis special concert and town event will celebrate several important events for WHSO and West Hartford\, including:\n\nArmed Services Day\, honoring veterans and heroes\n\nHonoring two West Hartford leaders who are leaving the community:\n\n    Kingswood Oxford Headmaster Dennis Bisgaard\, and\n\n    WHSO President and Principal Percussionist\, Ron Reisner\n\nBroadway singer and actor\, Carrie Pines\n\n"This is a concert of popular music from Broadway\, the movies and World War ll that will have everyone leaving the concert whistling one of the melodies!" said WHSO Music Director Richard Chiarappa
