SUMMARY:Playwrights of Park
DESCRIPTION:WEST HARTFORD\, CT- Pulitzer Prize nominated playwright Richard Vetere's play\, This Living Hand\, will be the first staged reading featured in Playwrights on Park\, Playhouse on Park's new reading series. This inaugural series is an exciting opportunity for emerging and established playwrights to bring the earliest incarnations of their plays directly to the Playhouse on Park audience. It will serve as an immediate connection between the words (and world) of the play and the audience for which it is intended. The plays will receive a cast of professional actors and a director and will be presented as a staged reading for a public audience. After the reading\, a moderated audience discussion with the actors\, the director\, and most importantly\, the playwright\, will give both the Playhouse on Park and the playwright constructive feedback to further develop the playwright's vision for the play. \n\nRichard Vetere (Primary Stages: One Shot\, One Kill\, Pulitzer Prize nominated) is a playwright who works in the theater\, TV and film industries. This Living Hand is a play about unfinished and unexpected circumstances between two writers\, Mark and Nancy\, who met in graduate school\, married\, and followed two different paths of success. When Nancy\, a Pulitzer Prize winning novelist dies suddenly\, Mark is determined to finish her incomplete novel. The reading will be held on Tuesday\, October 14 at 7:30 PM. The cost is $5\, general admission. There will be a talk back with the playwright and the cast immediately following the reading. \n\nWant to partake in Playwrights on Park?
